The Rector Was Honoured with A National Prize – Human Resources 2012

Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev, Rector of UNWE, was honoured with the national prize Human Resources 2012. The high distinction for his “entire contribution to the field of development of economics and human capital in Bulgaria” was bestowed him by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Liliana Valcheva, Chairwoman of the National Branch Syndicate Higher Education and Science to the Independent Syndicates Confederation.

“I appreciate by dignity and heartily thank to the Boards of the Foundation Human Resources in Bulgaria and European Integration, National Association of the Social Services Organizations and to the editorial staff of Human Resources magazine for honouring me with the national prize Human Resources 2012. By these words the Rector turned to Prof. Gancho Popov, organizers and guests at the official ceremony and charitable ball-concert for support of the social services homes.

“I accept that it is a high recognition not only for my personal contribution as a researcher in the field of economics and my merits for development of human capital in Bulgaria but also for the success of UNWE  whose Rector I have the honour to be”, pointed out Prof. Stattev. He adduced three examples confirming his words because they were emblematic achievements of the university in 2012: the highest accredited assessment obtained by UNWE among all Bulgarian universities; the extremely successful realization of the university alumni – Minister Totyu Mladenov wrote in the Golden Book of UNWE that 97,5 % of them has begun working after their graduation; and the policy for academic growth. “What a better spiritual symbiosis between economics and human capital could there be”, said the Rector.

“I am proud of being honoured with this high prize in the year when we celebrate 160 years from the birth of Prof. Stephan Bobchev – a founder and first Rector of UNWE because the prize is an evidence for academic tradition, continuity and prolongation of our predecessors deed whose motto has been: Forward and forward to the improvement”, declared Prof. Stattev.

The Institute of Postgraduate Studies at UNWE was honoured with the prize in category Educational Institution for Lifelong Learning. It was bestowed to its Director Assoc. Prof. Dr. Marcho Markov.
