2000 Students Participated in The Sports Holiday on The Occasion of Students Day

More than 2000 students play sports at the Bonsist Hall during the traditional Sports Holiday on the occasion of Students Day organized by the Physical Education and Sport Department. Youth men and women came to celebrate the sports glory of our university and to participate in the competitions on basketball, volleyball, chess, sports climbing, football indoors, tennis and table-tennis.

Official guests at the Sports Holiday were Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Valentin Kisimov, Vice-Rector of UNWE, Assoc. Prof. Lazar Kamenov, Minister of Sport, Prof. Dr. Jordanka Jovkova, Dean of the Business Faculty and Petko Kiosev, Director of the Materially Technical Facilities Directorate.

The holiday began with the passing of our representative teams on basketball (men and women), volleyball (men and women), football, football indoors, swimming, tennis, table-tennis, aerobics, chess and sports climbing. (Cups and medals won by them could be seen in the window displays of the sports glory at the lobby of the university and at the entrance of the Bonsist Hall.) After the champions were lined up, Prof. Kisimov began speaking to students. He greeted them on behalf of the Rector Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev and wished them to have a pleasant and successful Sports Holiday.

Under the applauses of students and lecturers began also the great show prepared by the hosts. Impressive tricks with a football ball in style of Ronaldo showed the freestyle group with participants Simona Petkova, Todor Mladenov and Simeon Semov, alumni of Bourgas team FK Tinya. The blood of boys was flamed up by our majorettes Nadya Tsvetkova and Milena Ignatova who were dressed up in military suits. The beauty of sports acrobatics was shown by the talents from the Sports Club AKR-TEMP with a coach Silvia Ivanova – each year they became increasingly better in acrobatics. After the official opening the competitions began at the three halls of Bonsist Complex.

The holiday finished in the early afternoon by the awarding of winners. For all participants there were T-shirts with the UNWE logogram and for the champions and winners – different awards.  The official guests were rewarded by sport T-shirts with wishes to visit the Bonsist Complex more often.

The Head of the Physical Education and Sport Department Spas Stavrev is hadling awards to the participants.
