The First Alumni of Bachelors of Science at The Regional Center for Distance Learning – Haskovo Has Graduated

“Strive for successful realization in life, be proud you have graduated from the UNWE and fight by all your skills and knowledge we have given to you”, the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev greeted the first alumni of Bachelors of Science graduated from the Regional Center for Distance Learning – Haskovo. At the solemn ceremony on giving the diplomas to the 69 graduates from speciality Economics attended Prof. Dr. Veselka Pavlova, Vice-Rector on Education in the Educational Qualification Degree of Master and Distance Learning, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jivko Draganov, Director of the Regional Center for Distance Learning – Haskovo, the Regional Governor of Haskovo Irena Uzunova and many others.

“It is the first case of graduation of Bachelors of Science in distance form of learning in Bulgaria. There are a lot of space-men but Gagarin is only one. You personify Gagarin. You should remember this day with proud because you have graduated the university №1 in Bulgaria”, outlined the Rector to graduates and expressed his confidence that they would continue their education for Master`s degree.

In 2006 UNWE obtained from the National Agency for Assessment and Accreditation the highest institutional evaluation among all universities in the country. In the second accreditation the university obtained a rating of 9, 65 on the ten point marking system which was again the highest evaluation among the universities in the country. 97% of graduates from the UNWE find realization at the labour market, outlined Prof. Stattev.

The Rector greeted the Director of the Regional Center for Distance Learning Jivko Draganov for the successful work of the first of its kind Center for distance learning in the country with more than 640 students. Prof. Stattev bestowed a diploma and Honorary diploma to the excellent student girl of the alumni Kalinka Dimitrova who is 36 years old employee at the UNWE and who has chosen to learn in Haskovo to combine her education with the work. A diploma and Honorary diploma bestowed Prof. Veselka Pavlova to the second excellent student girl by results – Kristiana Borisova. Both excellent graduates received also the book Free Fall by Joseph Stiglitz. 

The first Bachelors of Science in distance form of learning

“It is an exclusively important day as well as for the Regional Center for Distance Learning as also for the town of Haskovo and the region because the first Bachelors of Science in distance form of learning in the country have graduated here”, pointed out Assoc. Prof. Dr. Jivko Draganov and added that the Regional Center for Distance Learning marked also four years from its establishment.
