Patricia Luisa Inhos Selfa, lecturer at the Cervantes Institute in Sofia and respondent for DELE examinations presented the activity of the Institute as well as the certified examinations to students and lecturers of UNWE .

Donja Patricia was presented to the audience by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Daniela Kojuharova, Head of the Department for Foreign Languages and Applied Linguistics who reminded that this visit is only the consecutive expression of the longstanding relations between UNWE and the Cervantes Institute. “Among the numerous visits are these of Yon Huaristy, Director of the Institute who has chosen UNWE for a place to read his highway lecture, the meeting with Donja Luisa Fernando Garido, Director of the Institute in Sofia and winner of the National Spanish prize for translations (in 2005) who also has preferred UNWE as a place for her first lecture read at the Bulgarian higher educational institution’, outlined Assoc.  Prof. Kojuharova.

In her presentation Patricia Luisa Inhos Selfa reminded that the abbreviation “D.E.L.E.”  in Spanish means “a diploma in Spanish as a foreign language” and that it is an official certificate for foreign language skills and abilities issued by the Ministry of Education of Spain. Examinations are worked out, conducted, corrected and evaluated by the Cervantes Institute joinly with one of the most famous Spanish universities – the University in Salamanka. There are sessions twice a year – in May and November – candidates can go in for an exam for six levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2 that respond to the general European language frame requirements. Unlike the other certificates the DELE diplomas are termless and internationally recognized by companies, trade offices, universities – for education in Bachelors, Masters and Doctoral programmes, educational institutions in the public and private sector, agencies for international collaboration, etc.

Mrs. Inhos paid attention to the fact that in the preparation for the exams the Cervantes Institute offers specialized courses at a discount if there are more than 6 students from one higher educational institution as well as a self-preparation by the programme Virtual Aula in Spanish Language.
