The Rector and the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco Discussed the Student Exchange on the Erasmus+ Programme

The Rector Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and H.E. Mrs. Zakia El Midaoui, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Morocco to the Republic of Bulgaria, held a working meeting to discuss the promotion of student exchange on the Erasmus+ Programme.

"It`s a pleasure for us to work with universities, because in this way we could show young people different cultures. It has always been a great pleasure for me to be here in Bulgaria as well as at the University of National and World Economy", outlined H.E. Mrs. Zakia El Midaoui. "I would like more students from the Kingdom of Morocco to find out about the UNWE and enroll in the Erasmus+ Programme so that they could visit your country and obtain experience", pointed out the Ambassador of Morocco.

"Our university is one of the largest and the eldest in Bulgaria. Two years ago we celebrated our 100th Anniversary. We are a business university with specialties in the field of economics, administration and management. We have about 15 000 students and many foreign students choose to study here", outlined the Rector of UNWE. "We are proud of our history, we are also proud of our alumni as most of them have found successful professional realization as ministers and prime ministers. Mrs. Kristalina Georgieva, Chairperson of the International Monetary Fund, former Chief Executive Officer of the World Bank, is also our colleague and graduate of UNWE. WE have also a Wall of Fame where stand the names of our graduates to remind for the huge number of successful people leaving our university", added Prof. Dimitrov.

The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Polya Katsamunska from the Department of Public Administration - Member of the International Commission on the Accreditation of Public Administration - ICAPA /on the left/

Prof. Dimitrov highlighted the leading positions of our university in the Bulgarian and European educational space and presented to the Ambassador the European University ENGAGE.EU part of which is the UNWE along with six other leading European universities. The Rector and the Ambassador discussed also the possible cooperation under the Erasmus+ Programme which continues functioning despite the pandemic conditions.
