The Network is a tool for conducting comparative researches and analysis, developing methodologies, best practices, policy instruments, etc. on issues in the field of financial literacy and financial education .

As an Associate Member, the UNWE is entitled to attend OECD global financial education events, at the meetings of the special sessions of the OECD /INFE Technical Committee determined by the Advisory Board, and ad hoc OECD/ INFE Working Group events. At the end of 2018, a five-year joint Southeast European financial literacy project with the OECD/INFE and the Ministry of Finance of the Netherlands was launched, in which Bulgaria is also a participating country. Financial literacy activities are coordinated at national level by the Ministry of Finance, which is also the national coordinator of the project.
