National Competition in Economics Organized by the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria
The National Economics Competition of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria (AIUB) was held at the University of National and World Economy. The President of AIUB Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian opened the competition and introduced the guests of the event.

"Dear high school students, welcome to the University of National and World Economy. I want to congratulate you for your enthusiasm, for your determination, what you are doing is a little heroism - yours and your teachers'. To prepare diligently and come from so many different places in the country to fight for your worthy place in the large academic family of UNWE, said Prof. Dr. Daniela Feschian and stressed that today the most prominent high school students are competing in the field of economics from 22 AEUB member economic schools. Competitors from Burgas, Varna, Vidin, Ruse, Stara Zagora, Pleven, Pernik, Pazardzhik, Sopot, Kazanlak, Plovdiv, Blagoevgrad, Petrich, Kardzhali, Gotse Delchev, Velingrad, Gorna Oryahovitsa, Haskovo, Sliven and of course, from the largest economic schools in Sofia ". She expressed satisfaction that there are participants from schools outside the structure of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria (AIUB) and added: "For your little heroism you are honored by the personal presence of the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, who has always supported the activities of AIUB and has encouraged your performances and the opportunity to fight for leadership in all our competitions.

The Rector of UNWE, Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov greeted the high school students and thanked Prof. Daniela Feschiyan for the excellent organization of the competition.
"I congratulate you on your choice. The support of the teachers, of the school, the support of the Association of Economic Schools in Bulgaria, really show a lot. Economics and management have been underestimated lately, but successful companies can't do without economists, "said Prof. Dimitrov, adding: "Have you heard of Mark Zuckerberg and heard of Peter Tully, an economist and financier who invests in the company? Zuckerberg ensures the progress. Have you heard of Sean Parker - Napster's CFO, who has been a huge help to Facebook to grow and become what it is. I can give many examples, but there have always been successful economists, financiers, investors, lawyers in successful companies. who helped them become what they are. I hope that in the future you will be the business angels who will help Bulgarian brands to develop their companies."

Mrs. Emilia Ivanova, Deputy Chairman of AIUB and Director of the National Trade and Banking High School, addressed the participants and guests with the words "I am glad that this competition has achieved something that we have always wanted - to have students from as many schools as possible and that is a fact. I know that this is a difficult competition, one of the most difficult, because it is on a fundamental economic subject and in connection with the speech of the Rector of the University Prof. Dimitrov I want to tell you that the situation in economic education, not only at higher education and at the average level, it is very difficult. Three years ago, the number of students admitted to the specialties in the economic profile of education was 18% of all students, last year it was 14%. If the state continues to reduce our career by 2% every year, we will disappear in seven years. Even more important is your task, you are the people who must give a powerful impetus to promote economic education by becoming students at the University of National and World Economy, an extremely renowned place for the education of young people.

In this regard, today the students who are present in the Test Center, to which specialty of UNWE to direct each participant in today's competition, he will make the right choice and his participation in this competition will be fundamental. In this regard, in recent days, I follow very lively debates in the field of not only secondary but also higher education and the Rector of UNWE sets a very true direction for the development of education in our country - partnership, cooperation, networking between higher education schools and between secondary schools. For three astronomical hours the competitors have solved economics tests.

All anti-epidemic measures were observed during the competition. Participants were admitted to the Test Center with a valid document for vaccination, illness or examination, after measuring the temperature at the entrance, maintaining the required distance and strict control of wearing masks.
