Due to a donation by Lidl Bulgaria the technical equipment of UNWE has been completed with a portable video broadcasting system which will enrich the opportunities for online training and streaming. The system has at disposal a mixing console and three cameras of the latest generation. The new technique is designed for interactive online learning where students will be able to see the board and the lecturer at the same time. Students will have access to chat, picture, sound, shared screen and direct connection with the lecturer plus the functions of MS Teams like raise a hand and remote expression of emotions.

As another step towards deepening the cooperation between the Lidl Bulgaria and UNWE both parties signed a Memorandum of Cooperation. The document was signed by the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov and the Chief Executive Officer of Lidl Bulgaria Milena Dragiyska.

"I would like to express my gratitude to Lidl Bulgaria for the noble gesture. The equipment donated by you is very important for us because the UNWE has active presence in the social networks, we hold many conferences and events online and in the running academic year we made our first fully online prospective students campaign", outlined Prof. Dimitrov. He added that in fact the provided system is a mobile TV station of the most modern class. It will allow recording and broadcasting of HD picture during lectures and events in the social networks and will enrich the opportunities for online training, streaming and podcasting. "Over the last two years the digital technology has developed a lot and from now on it will provide even more opportunities. I believe that the technology will make the lives of people and organizations better", pointed out the Rector.

"At Lidl Bulgaria we steadily support education because we believe that it is the way to keep young people in the country and to improve the overall living environment in our country. The role of business as a partner of educational institutions is key as it can not only give young people a career perspective but it also provides for them a transfer of practical know-how and knowledge. It is the objective of Lidl Bulgaria's partnership with the UNWE. We have a wide range of opportunities to combine the strength of our experience and expertise for giving an additional value to students' education", said Milena Dragiyska, CEO of Lidl Bulgaria.

The portable video broadcasting system donated by Lidl Bulgaria will contribute to the improvement of the quality of the educational process and the development of modern interactive educational practices. The possibility for more precise positioning of both video cameras CANON will allow close-up and long-distance shooting and the 180-degree rotating camera  SONY allows to make a panoramic picture both to the stage and to the audience and the hall. They are controlled by a video mixing point ATEM Mini Pro which allows to record, stream, have an online connection and view the multifunction mode from one device at the same time. It is connected to an entirely new and upgraded HP laptop designed to control the streaming technology.

The touchscreen technology allows the smooth passage and merging of various technical means and their management for the fastest and highest quality broadcasting. In addition to the three cameras, the stands and the laptop, the donation includes LED lighting for the cameras adjusting to the light of the hall for the best picture quality. A sound card is added to them allowing clear and distinct sound which greatly facilitates the educational and presentation process.

The new technical equipment will be extremely useful in the implementation of online prospective student campaigns, as the ones that the UNWE held for the first time in the running academic year. It is also planned a university podcast to be implemented.

The Memorandum of Cooperation also includes a partnership to provide better opportunities for career development and professional realization of UNWE students through on-site visits, meetings with practitioners, organization of training and undergraduate internships, job fairs, public lectures and other initiatives of interest for students.

Both parties will also cooperate in supporting the quality of education of undergraduates and Doctoral students at our university by organizing discussions, consultations on the content of curricula and other initiatives of mutual interest, conduction of surveys and research. Joint scientific events, trainings and competitions are also part of the Memorandum.

On behalf of UNWE the Coordinator of the Memorandum is the Vice Rector for Institutional and Business Cooperation and Student Policies Prof. Dr. Tsvetana Stoyanova who at the signing of the document was represented by the Acting Vice Rector Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dragomir Stefanov, Secretary General for Social and Living Issues of Undergraduates and Foreign Students.

“The Memorandum with a large chain like Lidl Bulgaria, on the one hand, provides an opportunity for internships of our students in the structures of the company - Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Trade, Logistics, Transport Divisions, and on the other hand, it finds a material expression through the donation the company made for our university in the amount of over BGN 20,000”, said Prof. Stoyanova and outlined that the live streaming technique would allow all events to be broadcast lively from different points of view which would make easier to reach a wider range of people.
