UNWE and MTUCI Open Joint Master's Degree Programme

The Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics /MTUSI/ and the University of National and World Economy /UNWE/ have agreed to launch a Dual Master's Degree Programme in Business Innovation and Management.

The Agreement of Dual Master's Degree Programme was signed on 14 October 2021

"I am proud to announce that it is the first Memorandum in our recent history for a dual Master's degree programme in Russian with a university from the Russian Federation", said the Rector of UNWE Prof. Dimitar Dimitrov.

Practically from the beginning of the next year Master`s degree students of the MTUSI Digital Economics and Mass Communications Faculty will have the opportunity to study in Bulgaria and will obtain diplomas of European standard for Business Innovation and Management speciality, said Prof. Dimitrov after his returning from Moscow.

The UNWE was also represented by Prof. Dr. Nikolay Shterev, Head of the Industrial Business Department and Director of the Center for Research and Educational Projects, as well as by Prof. Rosen Todorov, part-time lecturer at the Industrial Business Department.

For the first time the education of students from the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics will be held in Russian. During the joint working meeting it was discussed the expansion of the programme also for technical specialties in the field of telecommunications and IT.

The Rector of MTUSI was awarded a jubilee coin for the 100th Anniversary of UNWE and the book Wonders of Bulgaria translated into Russian

During their first year the students will study in Russia, the second year and the diploma defense will be held at the UNWE. The university has highly qualified lecturers who have excellent command of Russian to provide the education in Russian. The new Master's degree programme is coordinated by the Industrial Business Department, explained the Head of the Department Prof. Shterev.

The UNWE delegation also visited the Communications History Museum at the leading Russian university

The UNWE will also support MTUSI with lecturers in other disciplines outside the joint programme in order to support the accreditation of the Russian university. Another issue that have been agreed upon is the development of joint research projects in the field of innovation in modern information and communication technologies.

During their visit to Moscow the UNWE delegation held a working meeting with the Ambassador of the Republic of Bulgaria to the Russian Federation H. E. Atanas Krastin. At this meeting issues related to the visit of Bulgarian lecturers to Russian universities were discusse as well as technical issues for effective education of Russian students in Bulgaria.

Similar agreements are to be signed with the Siberian University of Communications and Informatics and two other Moscow universities.
