14th International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists

The Economy of Bulgaria and the European Union in the Digital World was the topic for the 14^th International Scientific Conference of Young Scientists held under the patronage of the Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev. The Forum was organized by the Finance and Accountancy Faculty in a partnership with the University of Finance, Business and Entrepreneurship (VUZF), University of Bologna, Italy, University of Split, Republic of Croatia, Poltava University of Economics and Trade (PUET), Ukraine, Lutsk National Technical University (NTU), Ukraine, Lodz University of Technology, Poland, University of Rijeka, Republic of Croatia and Ss. Cyril and Methodius Economic University of Skopje, Macedonia.

It`s my pleasure to greet you for the 14^th edition of this Forum that has always enjoyed the great respect of the university Managing Body. We are clearly conscious that the young scientists ae the future of science so we strive for stimulating them constantly. Science is not the easiest thing but if you do it with desire and have a potential the things become interesting and pleasant, declared Prof. Dr. Valentin Goev. I am impressed of the large number of participants – more than 80 ones from various countries. Be convinced that this Conference will have lots of editions, said Prof. Goev.

The idea of the Forum was born 14 years ago. It was a wonderful idea which began with mistrust but today it is an excellent Forum for young scientists, declared Assoc. Prof. Dr. Grigorii Vazov. On the occasion of the 15^th Anniversary of the Conference he suggested changes in the format of the scientific Forum for making it a place for lots of professional contacts. UNWE has the capacity to do that, said Assoc. Prof. Vazov.

The participants were also greeted by Prof. Dr. Nikola Yankulovsky who expressed thankfulness for the invitation and privilege to take part in the Conference. Such Forums help the development of new ideas. I am sure that during the Conference wonderful ideas will also be born, said Prof. Yankulovsky.

This scientific event turned from a Conference in the frameworks of the Faculty to a traditional and significant university Forum, pointed out Assoc. Prof. Dr. Silvia Trifonova, Chairwoman of the Conference Organizing Committee. It was the first Conference of its kind devoted to the young scientists in order to unite them, introduce and make them share their points of view. I am proud that the first participants succeeded to grow in the scientific research field and economic practice, said Assoc. Prof. Trifonova and outlined that the current edition of the Conference had been supported by seven international partners.

Assoc. Prof. Trifonova completed her statement citing the words of Prof. Stephan Bobchev – the first Rector and founder of UNWE: “Armed with the knowledge you gained in our environment through the care of your lecturers and efforts of self-education, go firmly forward always on the path of your improvement. Whatever you devote to work, however, first of all and above all keep in mind the interests of Bulgaria”.

The Conference was held in several thematic sections: financial policy, financial markets, investment, insurance and social insurance; accounting policy and practice, accounting standards, financial audit, controlling systems and internal control; research and science, research and development activity, relation science-business, innovations, competitiveness, project management; entrepreneurship, management, marketing, corporate control and business development in Bulgaria, in the EU and in a global scale.
