Memorandum Unites Four Institutions to Develop the Initiative Anticorruption Academy

Development of the Initiative Anticorruption Academy in order to promote the corruption counteraction through organizing lectures, conferences, masterclasses, practical trainings, students practices and internships, cooperation in research projects, etc. – it is provisioned in the Memorandum of Cooperation signed by the Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc. (Econ.) Statty Stattev, Plamen Georgiev, Chairman of the Committee for Combatting Corruption and the Withdrawal of Illegally Acquired Property, Maya Manolova, Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria and Boris Yachev, Chairman of the Anti-Corruption, Conflict of Interests and Parliamentary Ethics Committee to the National Assembly (in the pictures below).

The responsibilities of each of the four institutions are recorded in the document and their specific engagements and forms of cooperation will be defined by annexes.

At the signing of the Memorandum attended the members of the UNWE Rectors Council, Diana Kovacheva, Deputy Ombudsman of the Republic of Bulgaria, Trifon Trifonov from the Committee for Combatting Corruption and the Withdrawal of Illegally Acquired Property and Assoc. Prof. Georgy Petrunov, Scientific Secretary of the Anticorruption Academy (in the picture above).

In the frameworks of Anticorruption Academy the UNWE hosted and co-organized two public lectures – by Plamen Georgiev, Chairman of the Committee for Combatting Corruption and the Withdrawal of Illegally Acquired Property and Thorsten Geissler, Head of the Bulgarian Office of Konrad Adenauer Foundation. Till the end of 2018 two public lectures will be held - by the judge Georgy Ushev, Chairman of the Appellate Specialized Criminal Court (on 19 November) and the Ombudsman Maya Manolova (on 10 December).
