UNWE Indoor Soccer Team Was Awarded the Honorary Diploma by the Rector for the Exclusively Successful Sport Season

The UNWE indoor soccer team met with the Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev and Rectors Council members on the occasion of its most successful sports year after the participation in the Bulgarian Sports Federation (BSF) championships and tournaments.

The boys from the UNWE team presented to the Rector all the distinctions they had won over the sports season: the title of Sofia City Championship and the Bulgarian Indoor Soccer Cup (in the picture below).

The most impressive success is the Bulgarian Indoor Soccer Cup won by the UNWE team. Due to the title of Sofia City Championship after 14 games, 11 victories and no loss in the company of teams of Levski Sofia, CSKA Sofia and Lokomotiv Aksidia out competitors gained the right to take part in the Bulgarian Cup Final Tournament in Gabrovo where they played against the champions from the City Championships of Varna, Ruse and Burgas. In the semi-final game the UNWE team beat the Lokomotiv BDZ team from Ruse with score 7:0 and in the final game our boys met with their greatest rivalry – Varna City and beat it with score 2:1. Thus the Bulgarian Cup will also adorn the showcase of the UNWE sports glory.

The boys from the UNWE team were greeted by the Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev and their coach Sen. Lect. Dr. Ivan Stoilov was awarded the Honorary diploma for the successful results over the sport season 2017-2018 (in the picture below).

The UNWE team obtained also the silver distinctions from the Indoor Soccer National League where the students had occupied the second place with three points less that the champion Varna City. The medals and the Cup were awarded by Alexander Alexandrov, Chairman of the BSF Commission on Indoor Soccer and graduate of UNWE.

The UNWE team has deserved its summer holiday and in the beginning of the next sport season it will face a new challenge – the game for the Bulgarian Indoor Soccer Super Cup against the team of Varna City.
