Doctoral Students and Undergraduates Discussed Practically-Oriented Topics

We are proud that the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty is the first one which unites Doctoral students and undergraduates. At the 7th International Scientific Conference on the Infrastructure: Business and Communications are discussed the tendencies and the ways of their application in the modern practice. These were the words for the opening of the Forum by its organizer Assoc. Prof. Dr. Miroslava Rakovska, Vice Dean for Scientific Research Activity of the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty and Head of the Logistics Department. The Conference is focused on the issues of infrastructure in our country and the creation of appropriate business environment for economic development and application of modern practices in the field of transport, energy, logistics, trade, defence and security, tourism and communications. The reports – 15 of them by Doctoral students and 30 – by undergraduates – are practically-oriented. Guarantors for their quality are the lecturers from the relevant Departments. The idea of the Conference is to find the common themes between the six Departments of the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty, pointed out Assoc. Prof. Rakovska.

Prof. Dr. Dimitar Dimitrov, Dean of the Economics of Infrastructure Faculty and Head of the National and Regional Security Department declared that such conferences had kept the academic spirit in communications between lecturers, Doctoral students and undergraduates.

On behalf of the Rector the participants in the Conference were greeted by the Secretary General for Science Assoc. Prof. Dr. Venelin Boshnakov. Such events are a good opportunity for Doctoral students and undergraduates to gather and exchange ideas, added Assoc. Prof. Boshnakov.

In the beginning of the Conference Chief Assist. Dr. Peter Stoyanov from the Economics Department presented how could be done scientific research (in the picture below).

In the Forum Programme were included reports about the security and preservation of critical infrastructures at the Black Sea, Bulgarian trade in arms and equipment, counteraction towards the human trafficking, demographic issues and national security, opportunity of refugees integration, etc.
