Doctoral Student from the UNWE Won the First Contest for Scholarship in Memory of Prof. D.Sc.(Phil.) Krastyo Petkov

Elka Syarova, Assistant at the Political Economy Department and Doctoral Student at the Human Resources and Social Protection Department of UNWE won the First Contest for Scholarship in Memory of Prof. D.Sc.(Phil.) Krastyo Petkov.

The award was bestowed on Assist. Elka Syarova by Plamen Dimitrov, President of the Confederation of Independent Syndicates in Bulgaria (CISB) and Chairman of the scientific jury.

The topic for the First Contest was: New Systems of Payment and Labour Stimulation: Mechanisms for Encouraging the Labour Motivation, Productivity and Their Binding to the Welfare at Work: Analysis of Situation in Bulgaria”. The thesis worked out by Assist. Elka Syarova was evaluated and ranked at the first place by the nine members of the scientific jury.

The award in memory of Prof. D.Sc.(Phil.) Krastyo Petkov, President of CISB since 1990 to 1997 and lecturer at the UNWE is established in 2017. Its founders are the UNWE, St. Climent Ohridsky Univeristy of Sofia and the European Higher School of Economics and Management. The award is given as a one-off scholarship on the ground of participation in a contest on provisionally announced topic. It is conferred only on one participant and it is intended for young scientists in the field of labour economy and social sciences from all universities in the country as well as from the Institutes of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences (BAS).
