Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elka Vasileva from the Economic of Natural Resources Department took part in the International Conference on the Responsible Organizations in the Global Context which was held in Washington. The Forum was organized by the Center for Intercultural Education and Development (CIED) at Georgetown University, Washington, USA and the Laboratory for Research of Management (LAREQUOI) of the University Paris- Versailles, France.

During the Conference were discussed the various dimensions and impacts of the responsibility of organizations – companies, institutions, governments, etc., having in mind the international differences and similarities as well as the global challenges.

During the opening of the Conference

The International Conference was devoted to the topic about the responsible organizations examined from different points of view: the international perspective (through analyses for different countries elaborated by the participants or through comparative studies); the institutional perspective (through studies of the business, public and non-governmental organizations); the professional perspective (through the viewpoints of researchers from different countries and people practicing the responsible management).

During the 18th working session Assoc. Prof. Elka Vasileva and colleagues presented their research on the Corporative Social Responsibility (CSR) in Europe: Discussions and Practices. Assoc. Prof. Vasileva outlined the results of the research in Bulgaria. The College assessed the comparative aspect of the research carried out in three countries through unified methodology – in France, Slovakia and Bulgaria as well as the different application of CSR strategies in the context of both countries from Central and East Europe.

During the meetings and conversations with colleagues from other European countries, USA, Canada, Latin America (Chile, Argentina, Brazil), etc., there were discussions about the global challenges and responsibilities of organizations, new tendencies regarding the ethical business and CSR, impact of national cultures on the ethical and social responsibility of organizations, analysis of risk and communications, etc. The common scientific interest allows searching for future research cooperation in the field of responsible and sustainable organizational management.
