Memorandum of Cooperation between The UNWE and The State E-Government Agency

Supporting the building up and maintaining the capacity of central, regional and municipal administrative and public organizations for implementing the objectives of the Strategy for E-Government Development in the Republic of Bulgaria 2014 – 2020, supporting the quality of education of undergraduates and Doctoral students from our university through organizing public lectures and discussions, consultations about the academic content and other initiatives of mutual interest are provisioned in the Memorandum of Cooperation between the UNWE and the State E-Government Agency (SEGA). It is signed by the Rector Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev and Rosen Zhelyazkov, Chairman of the Agency (in the picture below).

In document is also written that both institutions will partner in the implementation of surveys and scientific research in the field of e-government and its realization, will support the good public management, joint trainings, competitions, will provide better career opportunities of the UNWE students, joint application in projects and programmes, presentation of good practices in e-government, education and training, exchange of information, etc.

I am convinced that by signing the Memorandum we will expand and enrich our cooperation, pointed out the Rector Prof. Stattev.

I welcome the initiative and I am gratified by the attention of your authoritative academic institution which has a huge potential and opportunities to implement the convergence between the information technologies and public administration, declared Zhelyazkov.

I believe that our partnership will be exclusively successful and it will be fruitful for our students, outlined Prof. Dr. Kamelia Stefanova, Dean of the Applied Informatics and Statistics Faculty and Head of the Information Technologies and Communications Department.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Valkov, Head of the Public Administration Department outlined that due to the joint efforts of both institutions in the new academic year it would be started the unique Master`s degree programme in E-Government – the first one in Bulgaria.

Coordinators on the implementation of the Memorandum from the UNWE are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Alexander Valkov and Prof. Dr. Kamelia Stefanova and from the SEGA – Alexander Yolovsky, Deputy Chairman of the Agency.
