Doctoral Student from The Law Faculty – Judge during The Most Prestigious Forum on The International Law

Victoria Dimitrova, Doctoral student at the Law Faculty of UNWE presented our university as international judge during Philip Jessup Moot Court Competition in Washington, USA. The largest and the most prestigious Competition in International Public Law in the world annually gathers students from all continents and arbiters during it are famous professors, practical workers and judges in International Law.

The Competition is held as simulative proceedings to the UN International Court of Justice and it is organized in national and international rounds. The legal topic of the case for the current year was related to the common natural resources shared between neighbour countries, treatment of cultural values, human right to water and issues of refugees. The topic announced for 2018 includes the validity of inter-state arbitration decisions, detention of warship, violation of nuclear disarmament obligations and naval warfare.

In the current year the participation in the Competition provides valuable practical experience for every student of Law and International Relations. The UNWE was worthy presented by the Doctoral student Dimitrova who has a significant experience in the field.

Her participation was implemented due to the support of the Law Faculty Alumni Club.
