The Rector Awarded Honorary Diplomas to The Basketball Teams and Their Coaches Who Won Golden and Silver Medals
Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev, Rector of UNWE awarded Honorary diplomas to the UNWE basketball teams who won the first place among men and the second place among women in the Five Balls Tournament in Paris. At the official ceremony attended also the Rectors Managing Body.
Diplomas were also awarded to the coaches Sen. Lect. Larisa Kasabova and Lect. Dr. Ventsislav Yordanov as well as to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Spas Stavrev, Head of the Physical Education and Sport Department.

I am keen in the UNWE participations in the Five Ball Tournament for years but I haven`t thought we will achieve such a success, said Prof. Stattev and expressed his thankfulness to the coaches and students for their efforts. “The sport gives a feeling for power and superiority which will help you in your further realization”, outlined the Rector.
Sen. Lect. Larisa Kasabova, coach of the male basketball team reminded that it had been the 38th edition of the Tournament organized by the prestigious business school ESSEC. “For the first time in the history our participation was crowned with a Champions Cup for the men. The women were very close to their second Champions Cup but they needed a little bit more to win it”, outlined the coach. She expressed her thankfulness for the support to the Rector and the Rectors Managing Body as well as to the competitors for the worthy representation of the university.
The Rector was given by Sen. Lect. Kasabova a statuette of the Eiffel Tower and collection of pictures of our basketball players and their coaches during their stay in Paris. The Captain of the male team Radoslav Buyukliev awarded to Prof. Stattev the Champions Cup.
