Students from The UNWE Won The Scholarship of Nellie and Robert Gipson

The International Foundation St. St. Cyril and Metodii in cooperation with the American Foundation for Bulgaria having headquarters in New York awarded 104 scholarships for high academic achievements to students from families having law income. The funds are provided by the grantors Nellie and Robert Gipson. The requirements for the scholarship include high grades and law family income.

At the ceremony attended the President Rosen Plevneliev, Prof. Statty Stattev, Rector of University of National and World Economy, Prof. Anastas Gerdzhikov, Rector of St. Climent Ohridski University of Sofia, Prof. Dimo Platikanov, President of International Foundation St. St. Cyril and Metodii, Prof. Georgy Mihov, Rector of Technical University of Sofia, former scholarship students.

The Rector of UNWE Prof. Stattev expressed his pleasure of being at the ceremony and said he hadn`t felt as a guest at the University of Sofia but as if he had come back at his home and reminded that the reason for that had been hiden in the common origin of both universities. He wished the organizers to continue the noble deed so the young people can be elated by the scholarships as he outlined that it had been not only financial support for their development but it would left in them the deep trace of nobility, mutual aid and endowment which they would also hand out so generous, declared Prof. Stattev (in the picture below).

1150 students have been supported since the establishment of the scholarship so far. The total amount of money granted by the Gibsons till the end of the last academic year is 1 565 234 BGN. On the will of grantors the scholarship covers the full course of education till the completion of Bachelor`s degree. For the specialities Law and Medicine the grantors provide funds for the full course of education. The amount of scholarship for the current year is 2 000 BGN.
