UNWE Will Cooperate with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners - Bulgaria

The Rector of UNWE Prof. D.Sc.(Econ.) Statty Stattev and Vladimir Ikonomov, Chairman of the Board of Association of Certified Fraud Examiners – Bulgaria signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.

Both parties agreed to establish working relations and cooperation through the mutual exchange of information and publications about scientific, academic, business and other events, participation of representatives of ACFE – Bulgaria in presentations to students, lectures, conferences, seminars and other events organized by our university.

In the document  is provisioned also assistance for participation of lecturers and other representatives of UNWE in meetings, consultations, expertizes, statistical surveys and other events organized by the ACFE – Bulgaria as well as implementation of events of mutual interest.

The Rector expressed his thankfulness to Prof. Dr. Snezhana Basheva, Dean of the Finance and Accountancy Faculty for her activity in establishment of partner relations with many institutions. Thus our students have the opportunity to implement their internships and to obtain practical experience, outlined Prof. Stattev.

Prof. Basheva examined the importance of the signed Memorandum and declared that the students from the Finance and Accountancy Faculty will have the opportunity to obtain a certificate from the ACFE – Bulgaria after four successful examinations in the English language. The major objective of the agreements we have concluded with professional organizations and state institutions in the field of finance, accountancy and financial control is to provide internship practices for our students and jobs for our alumni, said Prof. Basheva.

ACFE – Bulgaria is an official branch of the international organization called Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, USA (ACFE, USA). It was established in 2007 as a non-profit association. Its major activity is to provide prevention and training for avoiding and detecting frauds related to the use of economic, financial and social system for personal benefits.
